Volunteer with Pathways

Our volunteers are undoubtedly the “heart and soul” of our Pathways’ programs. Whether they are buying groceries for older adults, talking a student through their grief, leading our support groups, or helping us plan fundraisers, our amazing volunteers are the reason why Pathways continues to make such a deep impact in so many communities and so many lives.

Available Positions:

  • Agency Training required for the following position:

    • Companions who meet with clients once a week to assist them with socialization, running errands, and other misc. duties

    • ‍Volunteer to sit with a client, allowing the family to take care of other things or to simply rest.

    • Requires training and a minimum of 2-4 hours per week

  • Agency Training required for the following positions:

    • School Group Facilitators lead groups at various schools in the area, as needed, during the week

    • CHANGES Family Groups are held for 7 consecutive Tuesday Evenings from 6:30-9:00PM (last hour is debriefing groups) three times per year (October/January/April)

    • Journey’s Adult Bereavement Facilitator – Co-lead an adult bereavement support group for 9 weeks on Tuesday Evenings from 7:00-8:30PM at the Pathways offices

    • Widows Support Group Facilitator on Mondays from 12:30-2:00PM

Enrollment and Training

Step 2: Training

You will receive a Volunteer Documents Checklist prior to training; make sure to bring all required items with you to training. Training will be split into two days, 2 hours per day. All required paperwork will be completed at the beginning, and training will begin directly after.

Step 1: Apply and Meet

Submit an interest form. You will receive a follow up message and an invite to a very brief Introductory Meeting. After this meeting, you will be invited to choose a specified date and join us for training!

Step 3: Evaluation and Confirmation

A brief one-on-one confirmation meeting will occur. You will do a final training evaluation, then make the final commitment and confirm you would like to proceed as a Pathways Volunteer.

Step 4: Background Check

Pathways will perform a Background Check.

Step 5: Client Assignment

After your Background Check is cleared, you will be assigned a client. You’re ready to be a Superhero!
